Surfin' USA

The show was a bit tougher tonight, as I only had access to one turn table! Sometimes I nailed the cue, and a few times, I messed up. Oops. Well, I tried to play as many Track 1's as I could, but some of the cuts I had selected were worth the risk. My girlfriend said she liked hearing the needle hiss a bit anyway. Did you?

Houseworks seems to not be selling bags of their half-off records anymore. WHAT'S UP WITH THAT.

Latin Escapades

Another show done. I did a theme this week, playing latin songs and old standards with latin beats. I really enjoyed this show, as the Cha Cha and Bossa Nova records are some of my favorites! There's a new computer in the studio, and it would seem that the DJ software isn't on the computer yet, so I wasn't able to log the songs and display them on the KRUI site. If you were wondering what something was, here's the playlist.

Brazil

Fun show tonight! I tried to wind a little narrative through some of the songs. Little connections. Was that fun for you? The Beetles cover rock block in the middle of the show was fun to put together! I bet I had more around her somewhere, but I got the idea this morning, so I didn't have too much time to find the records in my collection. My girlfriend hates that Tammy Wynette song I played. I was gonna dedicate it to her to give her a bit of grief, but I didn't think it would be a good idea to dedicate a song called DIVORCE to your current girlfriend if you're happy with her, which I definitely am.

Brazil (Concert in Stereo) - Ray Conniff
Strangers in the Night (What Now, My Love?) - Living Brass
I Fall to Pieces (Yakety Sax) - Boots Randolph
She's Got You (I Remember Patsy) - Loretta Lynn

Where is My Love?

Second show, in the bag. I'm thinking about doing some themed shows soon, but this week's show was another mix of stuff from my record collection. Did you dance tonight? I played some dance numbers for you, so I hope you did. Did you hear a buzzing sound? There was some sort of connection issue, that was not intentional. I have some tunes I didn't have time to spin this week, so they will surely make it next week.
